Give Life as Soul; All One, Thus, Be

              By  L. S. Heatherly

I.

Cast to lands, though, far from thee!
Cast one breath; then all are free!

Into the heart evolved for thee!
Common soul of humanity!
Into Earth-life emerged with thee!

Cast soul into human cradle
Eight million strong-- Earth-life labeled!

Cast not into dead Lifelessness!
Be found! With soul, alive with bliss!

II.
Cast alms to poor? Feigned grace we see!
Cast soul to soul: soul-alms set free!

Give life and soul! All one, thus, be!
Sow soul as alms; reap humanity!

Wealth is power, and rules through this:
Parent and child shall have less bliss!

III.
What doth happen; it's plain to see
When, not oft', mind's and heart's refrain
Meet-up, on Life's seldom used, sweet lane!

Oh, suddenly, our soul slips in!
Mind and heart's-- friend of old,
And bearer of Life's only gold!

Our world transforms, so pure and clean!
Our hearts hold seeds for Child's soul-light,
Wells-up and out-- our Human Spring!

Wakes, now, heart's lone, cold night!
When babe and mother-eyes meet free;
And child finds home on father's knee.

IV.
That parent and child shall have less bliss:
All wealthy men take vows to this!

Cast soul as alms; and free thus be!
Give life as soul; all one, thus, be!

The Road Retaken

                    By L.S. Heatherly

How long this trace of road has wandered,
Dying, now, from lack of human reasons,
From sieges of growth, burrowings and seasons,
Is what the human mind first ponders.

And what became of the dream abandoned,
That rebelled, and took this path to somewhere,
Hoping for no trace of someone else having been,
For chance at grasping deeper self now here remanded?

And how long this dreamer's dream:
The resprouting of a life and soul?
How much of one being's lost ground retaken?
Is what the heart would have the mind could know.

Pretty Lie

They say a picture's worth a thousand words.
If so, then why do poets write?

Do techno shots on paper and on screen
Lack wht science and art imply they mean?

Is this magic show a seduction without end
To hide some lies on which we now depend?

Does the poet's eye of spirit mind
Refute the eye of science-gadget mind?

Does this condensation of our speech
Reveal some truth that science cannot reach?

Will the poet rise up to defy
The rampage-mind's illusion, that Pictures don't lie.?

Does the spirit-eye go blind
From techno-eye, so prettily unkind?

Literature as Epitaph for Humanity

Literature seeps, reaches our immortal,
species' Seed-sprouts; tapping our primordial.

Voice shuns Desire's cold, written speech--
Words painting bright, our species waning bleak;

Voice tastes not, the news'  conversations:
Tonque licks, the olds'  tribe-relations.

Soul sighs! Timed-strewn, voice-pearls form.
Through mind-heart will, our species reborn

Human being's scrawled, Earth-speech?
Epitaph for Soul, long breached.

Children Born Free: Natural Culture

American Youth of the 1960's and 70's counterculture were told: "Get your act
together!" More recently, the acts on the stages of the Human Circus-Zoo--
called "modern civilization"-- are more automatically programmed via an
artificialization of childhood. But, a deeper pondering asks: of what kind, and
of what merit, are these un-natural, unecological choices! These fabricated
choices made on such slippery, mechanical, digital, virtual slopes!

These choices are provided to our children throughout youth's long, dietary,
spirit-being-culture-mind salad of scientific 'certainty', spiritual-ontological confusion, high-technicized senses and perception, digitalized, cyberized
language and relationships, spiritual-ontological frustration, commercial adulteration, and the ego's inflation.

An inflated ego that eclipses the whole human self -- human self as organismic union of family, community, mind, consciousness, being, spirit and culture; all within Earth-life!

Is this chaos of exploding, fragmenting, naturally evolved, human being and
socioculture merely stuff for social theories, and engineered, corporate,
cultural empires! Merely stuff for humanity as egocentric careers and
comodities! Have not our pesonal selves, our families, our communities, our
cultures and our particular ancestors emerged from, with and by means of,
our long-running, natural humanness; carried through, and around, written
historical time; carried through and around history's enslaved, subjugated,
human being! Carried primarily, by our innate, evolved, organismic, naturalistic,
Earth-folk Society and Culture! By the Earth-life-Humanity relationship!

Dare we evoke, through deepest human restorations, a deep soul-rebellion!
Shall we proclaim that our very humanness cannot be perpetuated, be
socioculturally reproduced, be sustained, for human posterity without sufficiently
preserving our root human being, nature, spirit and culture, all resprouting
from our, original, Paleolithic being! That we must and we shall, excavate our
200,000 year-old ecovillages as birthrights of our human species!

Shall we abandon achaeology of things for archaeology of our soul! Shall we
replace excavations for career's passion with excavations for lost, wide, deep,
manifold, human loves. Loves, once, innate and free.

Art, Nature, and Intelligence

By L. S. Heatherly

We use the words, art and artist, often, and in only one
sense of reality. Beyond our expedient, illusional reality, there
is a deep, pure, human art only reachable, during states of
cleansed, restored, primordial consciousness; only
reachable through traveling back in time and being,
back into natural human being and Earth-place.

Back there, in fleeting recovery of our primordial being,
we restore some reunification with our original, human
essences still in ecological balance, still there deep down
in the primordial self, still authentic to us, as a species
of our evolved, two million year-old, human family.

We are pulled by the call of the wild back into this true, human
art--into some recapturings of our whole, pure self--but only
upon such inspired, restorative, and healing journeys.

And, the farther we travel back into our natural, human
self-life-world, the more pure art -- the artifacts of pure, whole
self--we discover to be excavated, and restored back into our
human lives and souls, now debilitated with infection, now
diminished by scar-tissue, surrogative behavior--due to invasive
pollution-toxins--the artificialities of civilization.

The truest, purist, most genuine, human art is that which
restores humanity and Earth-life as one. It reimplants, it
reinhabits --in consciousness or deed-- the human soul,
in some measure, to its natural state within Earth-life.

We enter again our Earthly evolutionary flow;
our natural humanity flowing within Earth's evolution.
Dwelling again midst life on Earth,
We restore to us the only life we can, ever,
richly experience in an ecological reality;
can ever perennially reproduce for posterity
in autonomous,eco-community habitats.

Those looking for remnants of life on Mars or moons
are in denial about the meaning and value of life:
a deep, wide eonic process, creating succeeding species,
and changing them to fit within the whole process of evolutionary life.

Such specialists have been specialized out of the ability to
understand and behold what human life really is.
They have specialized their vision with artificial scopes,
as well as their perception and intelligence, with these and
many other artificial activities, objects and phenomena.

Can artificial, adulterated understanding, vision and intelligence,
engaged in artificial, human culture and society, bear any
promise of understanding two pure, natural things, called Life
on Earth and her Humanity! The sight, senses and mind of
science and art, as well as their fostered, 'civil' institutional
enterprises, become blind to real, natural, evolved
Living Nature, blind to real, natural intelligence and
consciousness: thereby, they become blind to real sustainable,
natural, human culture.
